This has allowed me to update the firmware a couple of times and do some test cuts using SCAL. The very weird thing about my problem is that I HAVE had everything working from a couple of different USB ports. The computer still can't recognize the Cricut, even though I have done everything possible within my knowledge, and tried talanhart's suggestion about uninstalling and reinstalling drivers for the USB serial port and USB serial controller. How long does it usually take to hear back? I still haven't heard from Tech Support except for the initial email about plugging it into the computer ports themselves and updating the firmware, and it's been four or five days. Help? I'm out of ideas and am so very disappointed that I can't use SCAL. And then I turned the computer off and didn't scrapbook for a few days. Everything worked beautifully and I was so excited. Earlier this week, I downloaded DS, upgraded the firmware on the Cricut from 1.0 to 3.2, downloaded the SCAL demo and purchased the software. My computer will NOT recognize that my Cricut is plugged into the USB port and turned on, so I am unable to use SCAL, or even the trial Design Studio to try to update the firmware again. I'm hoping someone will have some suggestions, I have been waiting a couple of days to hear from tech support.
